This is simply an overview of the whole site and how the various “wings” of the proposed country house relate to each other and to the landscape. These images are screenshots of a Blender file at a scale of 1 metre to each “Blender Unit”, and using dummy materials. Also note that none of these massing views include the roof lines, they just show the outline of the floor areas.

This may look somewhat disjoint but stick with it, there are reasons for each design decision that will be explained as we look in more detail at each wing.

Colour Coding

In the images each “wing” is coloured coded as follows:

  • The four main wings:
    • Golden Brown – The main residential area
    • Purple – Utility Wing
    • Red – Leisure Wing
    • Blue – Ballroom / Hall
  • Other Features
    • Olive – Patio area
    • Dark Grey – Stable block
    • Light Green – landscaping
    • Grey – Roadway
